Who we are
We are a non-profit consultancy supporting social actors who drive radical change. We support them in building their political strategies through methodologies like systems thinking, narrative shifting, investigative activist-research, workshops and mobilisation tools. Our approach always includes a process of co-design with movements themselves so it is tailored to the needs of transformational initiatives.
Our mission is to fuel these movements—already building collective power to resist extractivist and anthropocentric ways of life—with the resources, knowledge, and tools they need.
OUR STORY
Bascule Coop was born from our collective drive and urge to commit to socio-ecological change, shaped by our diverse experiences and the connections we forged along the way. Our team first crossed paths in Barcelona while pursuing a master’s degree in Political Ecology, Degrowth & Environmental Justice.
As we completed our degrees, we became acutely aware of the multi-crises facing our world and disillusioned with the “green” job market, which too often seemed mired in greenwashing and low-impact roles. This realization nourished our commitment to confront and transform the systems driving these crises and inspired us to create our own path—a place where activism and professional purpose could converge.
From our activist backgrounds, we also saw that necessary work was already being done by various radical actors, yet their efforts were often limited by scarce resources. Inspired by systemic thinking, grassroots organizing, and direct action, we envisioned Bascule as a cooperative to support and amplify the work of transformative socio-ecological actors.
