Utilizing a comprehensive literature review, the study examines the trends and drivers of deforestation and degradation in the Amazon, and successful policies aimed at curbing deforestation. As main findings this research points out to the lack of information that the World Bank makes accessible to the public, identifies how the different projects financed by this institution are related to drivers of deforestation, and concludes that there is a positive correlation with statistical significance for the general investment and deforestation trends between 1988 and 2018 within different lags.
